    Wow, what an extraordinary thing to say.

    Are we to accept that the (unelected) vested interests of the advertising industry should dictate policy to the elected representatives of nation states?

    Err... no.

    And as to "taking a stand", they already have.

    Google, Microsoft and others are constantly lobbying governments as registers of interest clearly show.
